Brendan Kelly will walk from Louisville, Kentucky to Las Vegas
Brendan Kelly, a 33-year-old man from Louisville, Kentucky, has challenged himself to walk from his hometown to Las Vegas to play a hand of blackjack. The trip will take three months and he will walk 1800 miles.
Kelly has a website in which he is selling the 3,250,000 steps that he will take for $1 each. He plans to donate $1.25 million plus any winnings from the blackjack game to several charities including the Make a Wish Foundation and Habitat for Humanity.
“I was having a lot of financial troubles so I needed a way to make some money, but I also wanted to give some away”, Kelly explained. He came up with the idea after he was told about a young man who sold pixels on his website and collected $1 million.
Kelly plans to produce a documentary about his experience.
