The network reached and agreement with the Ultimate Blackjack Tour
In recent years, TV programs featuring poker tournaments have become very popular. Now, CBS Sports bets blackjack programs can be as popular as poker shows. The network signed a contract with the Ultimate Blackjack Tour for a televised tournament that will be aired in September.
Russ Hamilton, the gaming expert, founded the Tour, which gives amateur players the opportunity to play against the best poker players in the world. The Tour consists of a series of elimination blackjack tournaments.
“This special Elimination Blackjack is a unique format that should create excitement for the viewers”, said Rob Correa, Senior Vice President Programming for CBS Sports. According to Annie Duke, poker champion, the Ultimate Blackjack Tour has figured out how to make blackjack exciting for television.
The format includes secret bets, forced eliminations and revealing the dealer’s cards to the audience.
