Ryanair Holding PLC, one of the biggest airlines of Europe, is looking for a gaming company to create an in-flight gambling system within the next two years.
The company is ready to give away between 50% and 100% of its current seats in order to implement this idea on its planes. Nowadays, 25% of seats are free due to promotions.
Ryanair is thinking about all the details needed to create this special gambling plan and to turn it into something real someday soon.
Doug McVitie, an aerospace consultant with Arran Aerospace says, "Gambling revenue alone won't make up for the lost fares."
Blackjack is the star game in this project since Ryanair has long been vocal about wanting to generate revenue through an in-flight game of blackjack.
So far, the carrier's plans for an airborne Las Vegas have been hampered by technology. It needs to figure out a way to get the gamblers to pay.
